God calls us to embrace those who suffer. The AIDS pandemic has been called the greatest humanitarian crisis the world has ever faced. The vision of this emerging initiative is to respond to the call of Jesus to embrace the least of these.

Currently there are 12 million orphans in Africa. By 2010 there may be as many as 40 million.

From Hope...

Hope

We have been led of God to launch the Zimbabwe Orphans Endeavor so that the resources of the North Carolina Conference may be linked with United Methodist people in Africa. It is our vision to work together to meet the needs of children orphaned in the AIDS pandemic in Africa. God has called forth Greg Jenks for leadership of this effort and is blessing this emerging ministry. I hope that you will join Mike and me in the growing company of those whose hearts are touched, whose prayers are offered, and whose resouces are given to meet this great need.

Bishop, United Methodist Church

From Greg...

In the summer of 2003 God began to burden my heart for the African children orphaned in the AIDS pandemic. I sensed that Christ was calling me to offer leadership in the United Methodist Church in caring for these suffering children.

I am convinced that this is the hour that the church needs to respond to the devastating suffering of the little ones in southern Africa.

As God has begun opening doors, ZOE Ministry has responded by offering care to thousands of suffering orphans. Hungry children are being fed, eager children are being educated, and little ones are finding hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

As I have looked into the eyes of these children, I have been struck by the reality that they no longer have a mother or father to look to. They look now to you and to me. The moment is now. We have the opportunity to change the lives and futures of thousands of suffering children. Please consider linking hearts and resources with ZOE Ministry as we care for some of the most vulnerable children on the face of the earth.
